Privacy notice — the waitlist
How we handle your e-mail address when you join the backcrm waitlist on this site.
The short version. We ask for your work e-mail so we can write to you once, when backcrm opens. That is the whole purpose. We do not put you in a sales sequence, we do not buy data about you, and we do not share or sell your address. You can come off the list at any time by writing to data-rights@backcrm.ai, and it costs you nothing.

1 · Who is responsible for your data
The controller is Backcrm.ai, Inc., a Delaware corporation, registered office NEW YORK, 121W 36th Street, New York, NY 10018 – USA.
For anything about your data — access, correction, erasure, or coming off the list — write to data-rights@backcrm.ai. Requests to that address are handled by an automated system; if a request is ever refused, a person decides that.
2 · What we collect when you join
Only what the form sends. Nothing is inferred about you and nothing is bought about you.

What we do not collect
- No cookies. This site sets none, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
- No analytics and no third-party scripts. Nothing on this page reports your visit to anyone else.
- We do not store your IP address or your browser's user agent on your entry. Your IP address is necessarily visible to our servers while the request is in flight — that is true of any website — and it is used only, and briefly, to stop one machine from flooding the form. It is not written to your record and it is not used to identify or profile you.
- No enrichment. We do not look you up in third-party databases or add anything to your entry from outside sources.
3 · Why we have it, and what we will send you
To tell you when access is available. That is the entire purpose, and we hold ourselves to it. The page promises one e-mail; one e-mail is what we mean.
Being on the waitlist does not put you into a sales sequence, does not cause us to enrich your record, and does not put you on any list we export or share. If we ever want to send you anything else, we will ask you separately first. Joining the waitlist is not consent to a newsletter.
4 · The legal basis
Your consent, given when you submit the form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We keep a record of that consent — when you gave it and to exactly what wording — so that we can demonstrate it, as Article 7(1) requires. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
5 · Where it is stored, and who else touches it
Your entry is stored in our own CRM — backcrm itself, running on our production infrastructure. No separate e-mail or marketing provider receives it.
The providers in the path of a waitlist entry are: a DNS, TLS and edge provider that serves this page; an application host that runs the service receiving your sign-up; a database host where your entry is stored; our business e-mail provider, if you write to us; and, if we ever write a note about you in our own CRM, an AI provider that indexes such notes so we can search them. All are in the United States and each is bound by a data processing agreement. The named list is available on request at data-rights@backcrm.ai.
The other providers listed in our full privacy notice operate parts of the backcrm product and are not in the path of a waitlist entry.
Transfers outside the EEA and the UK
We are based in the United States and so are the providers above. Where we transfer the personal data of people in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and any applicable adequacy decision. A transfer impact assessment is maintained for each transfer not covered by an adequacy decision.
6 · How long we keep it
Until whichever of these comes first:
- you ask to come off the list;
- access opens, you take an account, and your entry becomes account data;
- 24 months from the day you signed up.
After that the entry is deleted. The record of your consent is kept for the same period and ends when the entry ends — we keep it for exactly as long as we rely on it, and no longer.
7 · Coming off the list, and your other rights
Write to data-rights@backcrm.ai and ask. You do not have to give a reason, and there is nothing to justify.
You also have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw your consent at any time — withdrawal does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew.
We answer without undue delay, and within one month at the outside, as Article 12(3) requires.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
If you are in California: we do not sell or share personal information, and we have not in the preceding twelve months. The rights above cover access, deletion and correction; we will not treat you differently for exercising them.
8 · Changes to this notice
If we change how we use waitlist data, we update this page and change the version below. The version you agreed to is the one recorded with your entry, and a later change does not apply retroactively to it.
